Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 6, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information SpeakWiser may collect when you use the service, how that information is used, and the choices available to you. SpeakWiser does not sell personal data.

Information we may collect

Account data may include your name, email address, profile image, and authentication identifiers when you sign in.

Usage data may include learning progress, session activity, feature interactions, device or browser basics, and similar product analytics needed to operate and improve SpeakWiser.

If you subscribe or make a purchase when payments are offered, we may process billing-related identifiers and status provided by our payment processor. We do not store full payment card numbers on SpeakWiser servers.

How we use information

We use account and usage data to provide the service, save your progress, personalize learning, communicate about your account, improve product quality, measure usage, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.

Open-ended explanation answers may be processed by an AI provider solely to generate learning feedback. We send only the minimum context needed for that evaluation.

Authentication and payment providers

Authentication is provided through Auth.js with Google sign-in. Google receives the information needed to authenticate you under Google’s own policies.

When paid subscriptions or purchases are available, payment processing is handled by a third-party payment provider. That provider processes payment details under its own terms and privacy policy.

Cookies and analytics

SpeakWiser uses cookies and similar technologies required for signed-in sessions and basic service operation.

When analytics is enabled, we use PostHog to understand product usage such as page views, acquisition sources, feature funnels, retention, and privacy-protected session recordings. Session recordings mask text inputs and exclude sensitive fields such as passwords, authentication secrets, payment fields, and feedback or contact messages. Admin areas are excluded from analytics capture.

We also keep first-party product records in our own database for registered accounts, learning progress, scores, and feedback. Analytics events are designed to avoid storing full answers, emails in event payloads, or other private free-text content. Email may be attached only as an identified-user property after you sign in.

If you operate under rules that require prior consent for analytics cookies, enable PostHog only after that consent is in place for your deployment.

Data retention

We retain account, progress, and related records for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with legal requirements. We may delete or anonymize data when it is no longer needed.

Access and deletion requests

You may request access to the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to delete your account and associated personal data, subject to limited exceptions required by law or legitimate operational needs (for example, records needed for security or accounting).

To make a request, use our contact form.

We do not sell personal data

SpeakWiser does not sell personal data. We do not share personal data with third parties for their independent marketing purposes.
